I can no longer remember why I drove an hour into the Sumter National Forest to attend the 2012 Carlisle Christmas parade. But Santa's exuberant performance and the parade's 30 minutes was so enjoyable that I began attending other town parades. Now, over 110 parades later, I look forward to planning my November and December calendar.
